FINANCIAL ENGINES® WELCOMES FINANCIAL SERVICES VETERAN KELLY O'DONNELL TO ITS MARKETING TEAM

Former Cerulli Associates Executive Brings Expertise in Sales Strategies, Client Relations and Project Management to Leading Advice Provider

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 16, 2003 – Financial Engines, Inc. today announced that Kelly O'Donnell has joined the company as a director of marketing. O'Donnell was formerly director of consulting services for Cerulli Associates, Inc., a Boston and London-based research and consulting firm. O'Donnell will be in charge of marketing efforts supporting the direct sales and client services efforts at Financial Engines.

During her five years at Cerulli Associates O'Donnell demonstrated strength in securing and executing new business, managing client relationships and overseeing consulting projects. As director of consulting services, O'Donnell led Cerulli's U.S. consulting practice covering intermediary, institutional and managed accounts markets. She also oversaw business development and marketing efforts and worked with senior management to establish strategic business initiatives, new services and research agendas. Prior to Cerulli, O'Donnell was with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., a financial services firm, and Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P., a professional services organization where she spent seven years as a consultant and Certified Public Accountant.
